GUANGZHOU, July 21 (Xinhua) — A new general unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) made its maiden flight at an airport in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Tuesday.
The general Y5 UAV is developed by China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co., Ltd., a company based in the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai.
The drone has a large cabin space and a high payload.
It performs well at low-altitude, low-speed conditions, and is capable of short take-off and landing on a dirt runway, grass runway or an airstrip.
Equipped with an advanced control system, the UAV can undertake multiple missions such as delivery, disaster monitoring and rescue, etc.
