AndroMeta-X, a local drone services company, has been certified as a New York State minority-women-owned business.
AndroMeta-X, Inc. will be listed in the state’s Directory of Certified Businesses based on the product/services codes NAICS 541990 (All Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services) and NIGP 92400 (Educational and Training Services), according to the state certification announcement.
AndroMeta-X works with schools and various agencies across the Mohawk Valley and the central New York regions to help conduct drone training camps and support STEM plus arts (STEAM) enrichment programs. The company has worked with the Project Fibonacci Foundation in support of STEAM leadership training programs, including drone camps for local schools funded under a grant from First Source Federal Credit Union.
Pre-pandemic, AndroMeta-X supported drone training and awareness camps for the Fulton City School District; Herkimer BOCES; Catholic schools in Rome, Oneida, and Syracuse; as well as other schools and organizations.
This summer the company supported a drone camp for Camden schools.
“The pandemic caused us to step back in 2020 but as things improved during the first-half of 2021, we saw a surge in the demand for drone education to get back to some level of normal and work on building our future workforce,” said Barb Welch, chief executive officer at AndroMeta-X.
