Lucinda L. (Cookie) Head, age 60, of Clarksville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday November 5, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, TN.

She was born April 7, 1961 in Clarksville, TN, the daughter of the late Ray McKinley Sweatt Sr. and Obie Lucille Rogers Sweatt. Lucinda accepted Christ at an early age and is a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She is a graduate of Clarksville High School and attended Austin Peay State University. She worked for 30 years in medical records at Memorial Hospital and Gateway Medical Center. Lucinda was a loving wife, mother and nana. She enjoyed volunteering at Bright Beginnings Day Care. Lucinda was a great fan of western movies and TV shows, and especially loved John Wayne. She was known as a great cook and she enjoyed sharing her talent with others. Her favorite phrase was “You don’t tell me what to do!”

Left to cherish her memory is her husband James O. Head of Clarksville, TN; her daughters Shanta J. Head of Clarksville, TN and Katherine P. Head of Nashville, TN and her step daughter Catina Head of Clarksville, TN. Also surviving are brothers Ray McKinley Sweatt Jr. of Hartsville, TN, Larry Sweatt of Washington State and Anthony Corey Sweatt and sisters Quiences Sweatt of Clarksville, TN and Felicia Collins (William) of Kileen, TX. Lucinda was also blessed with three grandchildren Shaliah Griffey, Nashiya Griffey, and Deshawndrick Griffey Jr. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, Cookie is preceded in death by a brother Christopher McKinley Sweatt.

Funeral services for Cookie will be conducted on Saturday November 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Christ The Healer Church located at 1295 Paradise Hill Road, Clarksville, TN. Visitation will be on Friday November 12, 2021 at Gateway Funeral Home after 12 noon with the family present from 5-7 PM. Burial will be in St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
