Drones cannot be flown above people or crowds without FAA approval
MADISON, Wis. — Madison Police are asking local drone pilots to follow FAA regulations following an incident at an Edgewood High School football game last Friday.
A drone was flown over fans, players, and officials, causing the game to be temporarily stopped.
The FAA has laid out rules and regulations that drone operators must follow. Here are just a few:
-Avoid manned aircraft, such as planes and helicopters.
-Never operate recklessly.
-Always make sure you can see your drone’s location.
-Only operate one drone at a time.
-Never fly a drone over people, unless they’re helping operate the drone.
