Enclave hires three to construction team
FARGO, N.D. • Enclave, a development, construction and management company headquartered in West Fargo, recently hired three new members to its construction team.
Andrew Moeding has joined as director of pre-construction, Tony Palmer as project manager, and Landon Fedje as assistant project manager.

Moeding joins the Enclave team with 13 years of experience in architecture, construction, and construction management. He previously served as vice president of construction management at Newport Partners. A native of Eau Claire, Wis., Moeding graduated with a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Minnesota.

Palmer brings more than 17 years of industry experience in project management. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he received a design in architecture degree. Palmer also graduated from Northwest Technical Institute with an associate’s degree in architectural drafting/design.

A graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead with a construction management degree, Fedje brings five years of industry experience. Most recently, Fedje spent over four years serving as project manager at Interstates Construction.
Ackerman-Estvold creates new role for team member, hires new director of communications
MINOT, N.D. • Candace Brekke, who has been with Ackerman-Estvold since 2014, assumes the new role of director of marketing. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design from Minot State University and an Associate of Arts in graphic communications from Bismarck State College.

Brekke has spent more than 24 years in the field of advertising, marketing, graphic design, and interactive design. She will continue to lead the company’s brand development in traditional and online/social media and shape the growing corporate messaging throughout all markets.

Sabrina Herrmann has joined the Ackerman-Estvold Minot office as director of communications. She is a Minot native and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy and a Master of Science degree in business administration from Minot State University.
Herrmann previously served in a marketing and community relations role for a locally headquartered, community bank. Her responsibilities will include overseeing ongoing public relations-related projects and continuing to raise brand awareness and customer engagement.
Two at Ackerman-Estvold earn professional registration
Minot, N.D. • Two members of Ackerman-Estvold, Nathan Amick and Ron Marx, have recently earned their North Dakota Professional Engineer registration from the North Dakota State Board of Registration.
Amick has been with Ackerman-Estvold since 2009, serving as a seasonal intern for five years while earning his degree. He then joined the team in 2014 as a full-time civil engineer. His work is focused on the Water Resources division with responsibilities for analyzing, documenting and reporting on a variety of water resources issues in the region.

Amick has worked closely on various Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Plan phases and he has served as the StARR manager, which is a voluntary acquisition and floodproofing program for rural properties affected by the 2011 Mouse River Flood. His duties also include consulting regional municipalities on infrastructure maintenance and development.
Amick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University.

Marx has been with Ackerman-Estvold since 2014 as a full-time civil engineer. He has more than a decade of experience in transportation and municipal engineering and has designed and inspected roadway improvements and infrastructure projects, developing working relationships with contractors and government officials.
Marx serves as both a design engineer and a construction engineer working closely with cities, counties, and the NDDOT. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Cleveland State University, Fenn College of Engineering, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Paulsen welcomes new graphic designer
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. • Kelsey Gray has joined Paulsen as a graphic designer.

Gray spent the summer of 2020 as a graphic design intern at Paulsen. She said she’s excited to dive back into client work.
Originally from Houston, Gray moved to South Dakota in 2017. She attended South Dakota State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design with a minor in studio arts.
In her spare time, Gray enjoys painting, gaming, Harry Potter and Japanese animation.
Minot Junior Golf Association hires first executive director
MINOT, N.D. • Dusty Zimmerman has been hired by the Minot Junior Golf Association as executive director, the first person to hold the title with the organization.

With a newly designed golf course, the organization is expanding efforts to facilitate golf programming and experiences for Minot’s youth. The new position will allow the non-profit to focus resources on the growth and development of the Jack Hoeven Wee Links and golf opportunities for children throughout the area.
Zimmerman graduated from Minot State University with a degree in business management. She has worked in a number of capacities in various non- and for-profit organizations throughout the city of Minot and brings more than 20 years of experience in organizational leadership, marketing, public relations, communications and business development.

Essentia Health welcomes new provider
FARGO, N.D. • Dr. Boyd Marts has joined the Essentia Health team in Fargo, where he specializes in cardiothoracic surgery.

Dr. Marts completed his medical education at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. His residency in general surgery was completed at St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis and his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery was completed at Indiana University School of Medicine.
He is board certified in thoracic surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and in surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
KLJ hires finance director
WEST FARGO, N.D. • KLJ Engineering has recently welcomed Jonathan Matter as a finance director.

Matter is based out of KLJ’s West Fargo office and will be responsible for leading KLJ’s financial strategy and growth across the company. He has more than 15 years of experience in finance and accounting in a variety of industries.
Matter earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance from North Dakota State University in Fargo. He is a certified management accountant through the Institute of Management Accountants.
Matter also serves on the advisory board for the Accounting and Information System department at NDSU.
Apex Engineering Group hires survey technician, engineering technician
FARGO, N.D. • Dylan Pearson last summer was an intern for the survey group at Apex Engineering Group. Now that he has graduated, he has joined the team full time as a survey technician in the Fargo office.
