San Diego (KUSI) – Southwestern University launches a series of career training classes on Tuesday, providing hands-on experience and skills to succeed in several future career paths that are expected to grow in demand over the next few years. Provided to students.

The program (Drone Technology and Applications, Cybersecurity and Firefighting Science and Technology) focuses on computer and information technology. Employment in these sectors is projected to increase by 11% from 2019 to 2029, with an additional 521,200 jobs in the market, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. For firefighters, employment is expected to increase by 6% from 2019 to 2029.

The new program is:

— Drone Technology and Application Program: This first face-to-face class prepares students for a career in unmanned aerial vehicle systems. Students can enroll in a non-credit program at Southwestern University to take the first two classes for free, then complete a credit course to obtain an industry-recognized certificate.

— Cyber ​​Security Program: A 32-unit program aimed at providing students with additional internship requirements and preparing for future cyber security specialists.When

— Firefighting Science and Technology Program: Students have the opportunity to practice firefighting techniques, firefighting services, and firefighting in preparation for entry-level recruitment exams.
