CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – We can expect a high of 95 degrees today with a heat index of 103 in Clarksville. The situation could be worse tomorrow, with highs in the upper 90s and a heat index of 105 to 109 degrees.

The high temperature combined with dewpoints in mid to upper 60s will bring a dangerous combination of heat and humidity this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

“Please exercise proper precautions if you are planning to spend time outdoors, such as drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks in an air conditioned facility,” the NWS alert said.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 70s. Northwest winds up to 5 mph shifting to the southwest after midnight. Heat index readings 96 to 101 early in the evening.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 90s. West winds up to 10 mph. Highest heat index readings 105 to 109 in the afternoon.

Thursday night: Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 70s. West winds around 5 mph.

Friday: Partly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 90s. Northwest winds up to 10 mph.

Friday night: Partly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of showers after midnight. Lows around 70.

Saturday: Partly cloudy in the morning then becoming partly sunny. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 80s.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the upper 60s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s.
